Europe (Sep 2015)

Just managed to purchase promo tickets for Qatar Airways from Singapore to Amsterdam (and back to Singapore again) via transit at Doha for about S$1005 per pax (includes surcharges and taxes).

Therefore, we'll be going to Europe!!

This will be kind of a re-visit for us, since we've previously been to Europe back in 2007 for our honeymoon.
See here for our 2007 Europe trip (ok, just realised that I've totally forgotten about posting the photos for the last few days for that trip. lol).

Not sure if any of you have ever read the Chalet School series by Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, but when I was young, I've tried to collect the entire series (consists of 50-60 books) which was really difficult (and expensive) since they were considered out-of-print, so I could only get them from either secondhand bookstores or ebay.

Anyway, there were some locations that were mentioned in the book series that are located in Switzerland and Austria...therefore, I had always wanted to actually visit some of these places (namely Wengen in Switzerland, and Innsbruck in Austria).

So for this trip, I'm definitely including Interlaken, Wengen, and Innsbruck into the trip.

Luzern was because during my previous visit, I stupidly deleted all my photos taken at Luzern, therefore I'd really hope to re-visit that place again.

As for Amsterdam, well, my husband and I really loved the potatos over there, lol, so since the airfare to that airport is cheaper than most other airports in Europe, so why not? Plus we wanted to try Belgium waffles and chocs as well.

I love overnight train rides, therefore, we planned an overnight train journey from Prague to Amsterdam (with a transfer at Cologne, Germany).

    1. hmm, sorry, we didn't really took note of the expenses.
But if I remembered correctly, it was around 2.5k SGD per pax for airfare + hotels + trains. We really scrimped on accommodations and just got whatever's cheapest near train stations. Switzerland's accommodations are really expensive.
