Day 1: Singapore to Bangkok via Scoot budget Airlines.
The ride was pretty alright for a budget airlines. Since i have short legs, so there's ample leg room for me. My poor hubby, not so much though. :)
Upon arrival at Bangkok's airport, we bought this data sim card for 299 baht from 1 of the counters at the airport.
Taking the express airport train from Suvarnabhumi station to Phaya Thai station. |
There's a normal and slightly cheaper regular train that stops at all the stops (therefore, a slightly longer journey), but we took the express train which skips most of the stops and is also way less crowded than the regular train.
More info on the Airport Link train: http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/to_from_airport_link_en.php
Onboard the Airport link express train. |
From Phaya Thai station, it's a short train transfer to the BTS to get to Siam station.
We stayed at Novotel Siam Square hotel. |
After checking in, we went to a nearby Thai food restaurant near the hotel for some dinner.
Every time I go to Bangkok, I will try out their room service's Chicken with cashew nuts dish (which is my fav Thai food). So even though we had late dinner already, I still can't resist trying out the hotel's room service for this dish. It's quite nice.
Day 2: Platinum Fashion Mall and Siam Paragon
View of Central World from our hotel room's window |
Walked from our hotel to Phetchaburi area |
Platinum Fashion Mall |
Spent most of my afternoon at Platinum Fashion Mall. Lots of people, cheap clothes. :)
Took BTS back to Siam station |
Went to Siam Paragon shopping centre just opposite our hotel to look for dinner and Krispy Kreme.
Of course, we couldn't resist Krispy Kreme. |
Day 3: Siam Square and MBK
Had early lunch at a BBQ buffet restaurant near our hotel.
After lunch, had a leisurely stroll down Siam Square to get to MBK shopping mall.
Siam Square |
Finally arrived at MBK. I think I would prefer to shop at Platinum Fashion Mall for clothes though, cheaper.
Think I bought some mobile phone case from MBK on this day. Hubby got bored, so he decided to go to Phetchaburi area to shop on his own while I continued shopping at MBK. We agreed to meet back at our hotel in the evening.
MBK |
Our meal at 1 of the Japanese restaurant at MBK |
Room service. again. Yes, I was watching Running Man on my tablet. |
Day 4: Cabbages and Condoms, and Terminal 21.
From Siam station, we took the BTS to Asok station where it's just a short about 7mins walk to the Cabbages and Condoms restaurant.
Cabbages and Condoms restaurant's website: http://www.pda.or.th/restaurant/
Food is not bad, have a nice variety on their menu. |
Fried ice cream. I didn't really liked this too much though. |
They give out condoms with their bill. |
How much we paid for our meal. |
After lunch, we walked back to Asok station.
Terminal 21 shopping mall located just next to Asok station |
We spent the rest of our afternoon at Terminal 21 shopping mall. The mall have an airport theme which makes it interesting.
Evening time, we headed back to our hotel. Had room service.
Day 5: Heading back to Singapore
Before we got to leave for the airport, we walked to Central World to have our lunch at the BBQ restaurant. I loved it.
Bye bye Bangkok, till next time. |
Hi Sam!
ReplyDeleteThere are truly a lot of things to do in Bangkok and I would love to check out the wondrous attractions in the city, but can you also give recommendations on what are the possible tours and excursions outside the city? Thanks!
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I just returned from my Japan trip. Since I've always visited Bangkok on my own and have never been on any tour packages, so I'm sorry I can't really help you much there.
